NEW GOALKEEPER ON THE WAY?

The agent that represents Palmeiras goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri claims his client is close to securing a move to Anfield.

Cavalieri's representative Juninho Parmigiani says he's due to hold talks with the Reds over the weekend to try and finalise a deal for the 26-year-old Brazilian.

He said: "The Palmeiras' board released Diego to negotiate with Liverpool and we are going to fly in to finalise the last details.

"We still cannot say that everything is closed because there are some things between Liverpool and Palmeiras and other details in the contract.

"I believe everything is going to be resolved this weekend.

"If everything goes as it was agreed, he is going to sign the contract."
