CONCERNING CLAIMS FROM ANFIELD

Reports late this evening claim that Rafa Benitez has had a new bust-up with the club's owners for rejecting the offer of an interest free £12million loan.

A mystery Liverpool supporter approached the club with the offer so that the money could be invested on players in the summer transfer market but Tom Hicks and George Gillett rejected the offer.

It is also claimed that the duo are not impressed with the manager's pursuit of Gareth Barry because they think he's too expensive.

Both parties refused to comment about the claims when approached.
